VHS
videocassettes:
The VHS production started
in 1984, and has continuously grown in capacity until now.
The capacity of Dax plant is around 8 million pieces per
month.
The Magnetic tape is
produced in the Dax Magnetic tape Unit. The Cassette Unit
has 3 winding and 3 packaging lines to deliver all the
below products to the European and Asian markets.

8mm,HI8 and D8 videocassettes:
This production started in
March 2002. The capacity is about 1.2 million pieces per
month.
Sony Dax produces magnetic
tape for 8mm, HI8 & D8 except for the HME models. The HME
tape has a different technology which uses the magnetic
tape evaporation process. Those pancakes come directly
from Japan, and are wound into the shell in the Dax plant.
The Cassette Unit for 8MM is composed of 1 winding line
and 2 packaging lines, which are able to produce Standard
models as well as Special Packaging products.

Betacam SP videocassettes:
For over 15 Years, Betacam
SP has set the standard for Mainstream broadcasting across
the world. Even today, Betacam SP is set to remain the
undisputed format of choice for a wide variety of
broadcast applications.
The Dax Betacam SP production started in April 1994. The
capacity is about 800,000 pieces per month for small
models, and 250,000 pieces per month for large models. The
magnetic tape is produced in the Dax Coating Unit. The 2
winding and packaging lines allow Dax to deliver 100% of
Betacam SP sold in Europe, in North and South America.
